The Spectacular Spider-man series that came out a couple of years ago was actually pretty damn cool. it had a simple art style but totally captured the flavour of the web-head at his best. Now Disney is returning to the animation well and teaming up with Brian Michael Bendis to bring us Ultimate Spider-Man, an animated take on the very popular comic book series. though its not starting from issue one, it looks to be delving into Spidey’s life somewhere in the middle… But it does feature some awesome surprises, like the Iron Spider suit, and some cool cameos (Agent Coulson?)! It kicks off in April and is being bundled in with Avengers: Earth Mightiest Heroes Season 2. Sounds like a good reason to switch on the telly on a Sunday Morning!

Over the past year, Peter Parker has been saving New York City from evil villains as the masked hero, Spider-Man, while also balancing his heroics with homework and friends. When S.H.I.E.L.D. Director Nick Fury offers Peter the chance to raise his game to the next level–to become the Ultimate Spider-Man–Midtown High becomes a secret operations base for young heroes under the watchful eye of Fury and the school’s new acting principal, Agent Coulson. Spidey takes on S.H.I.E.L.D. missions across the Marvel Universe, encounters new villains, and battles his biggest threat yet…teen high school drama, in this funny and action-packed new series!
