2000 AD: ABC Warriors – Trailer
I’ll freely admit i’m not really the person to come to if you want to know about British comics. I have read about 3 issues of 2000 AD in my time and if you pressed me i reckon i could MAYBE name 4 characters who have appeared in those hallowed pages. Judge Dredd is probably the most iconic and memorable creation to come out of the 2000 AD stable, but now others are starting to come out of the woodwork and get recognized for the awesome stories which have been published in this weekly magazine since 1977.
The ABC Warriors have been a staple of 2000 AD since 1979, they were created by Writer Pat Mills, and the artists Kevin O’Neill, Mike McMahon, Brett Ewins, and Brendan McCarthy, who designed all of the original 7 characters. Wikipedia describes them as:
The A.B.C. Warriors themselves are a team of war robots designed to withstand ‘Atomic’ ‘Bacterial’ and ‘Chemical’ warfare. They were built to take part in the long-running Volgan War, which Pat Mills had described in several previous 2000 AD strips, including Invasion! and Ro-Busters. Each robot has a distinctive personality – often one programmed by its human creators – but each is more or less able to act with free will.
Firestep are the creators behind this animation, the company was set-up by ex Cosgrove Hall folks Jon Doyle and Steve Maher. Their most notable recent work has been the Doctor Who animation “The infinite Quest” though this trailer seems to be a step towards the “Motion Comics” that they have publicly stated they want to develop further.

Is this a trailer for an online motion comic? A video game? A short televised animation? OR is it a fully fledged TV show? I have no fricking clue! But its cool and you needed to see it. Feedback and let us know what you think it is, or what you want it to be.

you know i had a feeling you might do something like that… now if i found out it was a long running animated Tv series based on scripts of the original comics would you explode?
sadly i have found out no such information…
Rebellion is a game company though and apparently they own the rights to the entire 2000AD catalogue…. so are we looking at a game? WHO KNOWS?!
Looks SOO cool, thanks for finding that!
