MTV movie awards + NEW MOON – trailers and clips
The MTV movie awards may be the most vacuous and ridiculous “awards show” of the year, with honours going to such high quality concepts as “Best Kiss” and “Best Fight” and this year lowering the bar by having the essentially poor man’s “Interview with a Vampire” “Twilight” take out the top award OVER “The Dark Knight”! However it does tend to get some great clips and trailers because it gets a huge audience. As such we’re gonna show you a few of these clips and speak NOT AT ALL about the utterly meaningless awards they handed out.
Oh but Bruno teabagged Eminem, so thats gotta count for something.
First off out of the gate, the sequel to Twilight: New Moon.
THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON trailer in HD
Yes its more Vampiric posing and now with added fur and American Indian stuff. Must admit, i have read almost all of the books. and they are Mostly Harmless. Mostly. (Hows that for comibing two unconnected movie universes….Aliens and Hitchikers Guide!)
Then we got some goodies from the world of giant robots!!!!
We saw some bits and bobs from the wonderful world of Harry Potter as well…
And the super stupid, but screamingly over the top G.I. Joe. i remain undecided on the coolness.
So, what do y’all think? anything worth looking at there or is it all smoke and mirrors? Feedback on the blog!

New Moon: For gods sake, stop being so emo!
ROTF: … So many robots …. so many gorgeous robots
So many gorgeous robots! and SO pulled now. damn it! yeah pulled form youtube pulled from everywhere. but ravage had little blade ears! how bizarrely cute and still odd was that?!
extremely awesome clips. and the GI joe one i think looks totally stupid but kinda fun nonetheless.
as to the awards. what a waste of time. best fight= twilight? fuck you.
I avoided reading the text in case of spoilers, but the clips:
first one ‘no longer available’
as for Harry Potter.. pffft exclusive. They showed an extended version of that scene as one of the first sneak peeks of the movie we ever got, last year I think. BUT DAMN BRING ON JULY 15. Ahead of everyone else, too. mwuhahaha
GI Joe looks like stupid popcorn flick fun. At least they don’t seem to be taking themselves too seriously.
How much cooler does Byung-hun Lee as Storm Shadow look in his plain white suit than the Joe’s in their ridiculous Accelerator Suits? I think G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra might be a big dumb fun action flick, but this trailer leaves me convinced I should definitely leave my brain at home if I go see it.
poor Eminem, his tough guy persona couldn’t save him from Sacha Cohen’s buffoonery
Nomad: Actually, the whole thing was set-up beforehand and Eminem was in on it: http://tinyurl.com/npcuzx

Have to admit, I’m looking forward to New Moon. The Twilight books were a fun read, and there’s some serious fun in seeing werewolfs finally animated decently.
Have to call you on the ‘poor man’s “Interview with the Vampire”…totally different vampire universe, totally different concerns. Will discuss further if you’re interested (I could write for days, I warn you, having read all of Anne Rice’s vampire books and the Twilight series. Plus I nearly have a literature degree lol). The MTV awards are pretty crappy, aimed at 13 year old American kids, and they haven’t done anything worth noting since the ‘Best Old Man Fight’ for Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring back in the day.
