Slingers – TV Trailer

This is not the sort of thing that we should probably be covering here, for one really important reason.  It might never get made.  What you’re about to see is a so called “Sizzle Reel”  for a Tv show that hasn’t been made yet.  The creatives involved are hoping to get the series off the ground with a 6 episode season, (so i guess its made in the UK then) starting in 2010. From what we can tell it’s pretty much a case of Oceans 11 in space.  Or leverage crossed with red dwarf.  Only classier.

This i why i love british Sci-Fi SO much, it can, when it chooses to, be ULTRA classy!  Of course it can also be Hypedrive…. but that aside, this looks to be “The Dogs Bollocks”. Its got a cool looking cast, a reasonable name there in Sean Pertwee and a fantastic look.  From what I can tell, now all it needs is an audience.  Oh and probably man millions of pounds to ge the damn thing made! Therein lies my greatest concern about this little promo; it might never come to fruition!  Much like Global Frequency, the series that totally should have been made (and now is on the cards again) this may betoo much of a tease!  It may be just too painful for it not to be made.

The short is directed by Steve Barron, and written by Mike Sizemore who seems to be the driving force behind getting this thing made. Let us hope he succeeds.  You watch this at your own risk folks!

Do you want to see this happen as badly as i do?  apparently Warren Ellis (of Global Frequency fame) Tweeted that this was his favourite new TV show, could he be right?  now if only i knew who to write letters at, to make sure this gets made!
