Doctor Who – The Anime!?
One of our regular listeners, Wendy pointed us towards this clip and we wanted to share it with y’all coz its just so damn cool!
Its in no way official, or even slightly affiliated with the good old BBC, but damn if it ain’t a bizarrely hilarious combination of genres. Featuring sound bytes from the original actors combined with some new audio, this is “Who” in a way we’ve never seen before. Make sure you keep an eye out for the Doctors extremely anime styled companion. She doesn’t have much to say, but i can guarantee you’ve never seen a companion like her! “Otaking77077″ has created this fan film and is continuing to work on it constantly. For more behind the scenes he has a deviant art page, search for “Mightyotaking” to see what he’s up to.
My personal favourite bit? Anime style Cybermen throwing cars around. Cybermen look so cool in the anime style, its insane!
All of us at (Cool) Shite have had a look and can’t wait to see the whole thing fully put together. Personally i think its awesome when fans take it upon themselves to create something new out of the series they love. It may never make money, it may never get seen by more than fifty people, but they had a story they wanted to tell. Thoughts? Have you seen a fan film that was cooler than the real deal? Tell us!

I just hope it won’t be shut down due to copyright infringement…
Yes, the Cybermen look extremely awesome here…
Yep, the Cybermen in this are pretty much what i think thye should look like in the series… bugger off all these stomping “Delete delete delete” morons and bring back the creepy smooth faced “Normal” cybermen.
if they were to update the design to this kind of thing instead of creating bollocks like “Cyber shades” i think we’d all be a lot happier.
more please!
A-ha! I thought that looked familiar – it’s the same guy I tweeted about earlier in the week. Isn’t his work fantastic?!
I think this looks awesome. I hope the script for the short lives up to the animation. Voice acting can always be replaced if it is dodgy, but the script is key.
