Watchmen Dr Manhattan Viral Video
The watchmen marketing behemoth now unencumbered by legal woes really starts to ramp up with the beginning of the viral marketing campaign and the launch of the “New Frontiersman” site. The following video will be attached there shortly but has been released early to other outlets. The Watchmen viral campaign seems to be setting up the world that watchmen exists in and gives us a window to the history of that alternate reality.
The Plot (from IMDB)
Watchmen is set in an alternate 1985 America in which costumed superheroes are part of the fabric of everyday society, and the Doomsday Clock – which charts the USA’s tension with the Soviet Union – is permanently set at five minutes to midnight. When one of his former colleagues is murdered, the washed up but no less determined masked vigilante Rorschach sets out to uncover a plot to kill and discredit all past and present superheroes. As he reconnects with his former crime-fighting legion – a ragtag group of retired superheroes, only one of whom has true powers – Rorschach glimpses a wide-ranging and disturbing conspiracy with links to their shared past and catastrophic consequences for the future. Their mission is to watch over humanity¦ but who is watching the Watchmen?
I love the retro feeling of this clip and i really hope that the film manages to keep some of that tone. Zack Snyder really is doing a fantastic job with the style of film he’s making and i for one am SO glad all the legal bollocks is over and done with.

This is friggin awesome
I love this type of additional content they create for films. Watchmen is written to have a heap of this type of stuff produced.
The 1960′s TV report is awesome.
“I am glad he is blue not red” is beautiful and completely scary.
“better blue than red”. just the kind of jingoistic sloganizing that the press would make up in the sixties and seventies.
i love the feeling of a completely different history. its all so cool.
MORE PLEASE!!!
and eighties and nineties, oh and don’t forget the noughties.
Great advertising tho. I can’t wait for a double blu ray special edition with all these extras.
