Underworld: Rise of the Lycans – Trailer

Underworld: Rise of the Lycans – Trailer

Underworld 3 opens today around the world and I am interested in seeing it. For me the first two films where a fun ride into the vampire/werewolf genre that setup an interesting world and kept generally out of the “human world” perspective. The idea of a war between vampire and lycan isn’t new but it was fun to see it up on the big screen. The third film is all about the origins of that war.

The Story (from IMDB)

The prequel story traces the origins of the centuries-old blood feud between the aristocratic vampires and their onetime slaves, the Lycans. In the Dark Ages, a young Lycan named Lucian (Sheen) emerges as a powerful leader who rallies the werewolves to rise up against Viktor (Nighy), the cruel vampire king who has enslaved them. Lucian is joined by his secret lover, Sonja (Mitra), in his battle against the Vampire army and his struggle for Lycan freedom.

While I will be the first to admit these films are not what you call masterpieces, I do find them fun and entertaining and to me that is sometimes better.

Also I forgot to mention I think Rhona Mitra is hot.

Star crossed lovers with a . . . bite, shall we say? heh, apologies, couldn’t help that. Looks to be something to lighten the mood after seeing either Benny Button or Doubt, with little to no expectations to really be met. Can’t be any worse than Van Hellsing, after all.
