9 Trailer
You would be forgiven if you thought that 9 is just another CGI movie, but then you haven’t watched the trailer. I had not heard of this film till yesterday in our feedback show and I want to share with everyone this awesome looking trailer.
The Plot (from Wikipedia)
9 takes place in a world parallel to our own, in which the very legacy of humanity is threatened. A group of sapient rag dolls, living a post-apocalyptic existence find one of their own, 9 (Elijah Wood), who displays leadership qualities that may help them to survive.
The conflicted, but resilient group includes 1 (Christopher Plummer), a domineering war veteran; 2 (Martin Landau), an aged inventor; 5 (John C. Reilly), a stalwart mechanic; 6 (Crispin Glover), a visionary and artist; and 7 (Jennifer Connelly), a brave warrior. The trailer also depicts 3 and 4 as identical, hooded rag dolls, and 8 as a hulking warrior (his number is marked on his left shoulder unlike the others, who bear their numbers on their backs).
What also grabs my attention is that Timur Bekmambetov (Night Watch, Day Watch, Wanted) is working with Tim Burton to bring this picture to life. The director is Shane Acker, an animator originally from WETA Digital.
Have a look below at the pretty trailer and tell us what you think.

and Timur doing what he does best…. weird and cool.
its just WAY too far away.
Like NOTHING I’ve ever seen before. The best way to describe it is Toy Story meets The Matrix

Sorry about that. The first comment took ages to publish, so I thought it hadn’t worked, so I did it again.
Still fine tuning the cache system of the website, so sometime it takes a while for comments to appear. Normally around 10 of so minutes.
That does look very sweet indeed!!!!
Glad you like the look of this. Like I said I’ve been following it for a while and it’s got me very excited. I saw the short that 9 is based on a while ago and was hooked. This one can’t come quick enough.
By the way the 9 vs Nine war I was talking about in the email is that some ejit over at the Weinstein company is aiming to release their next very worthy and very dull looking bit of oscar bait with the likes of Nicole “Australia” Kidman in called “Nine” on the same day as the really cool and exciting looking film “9″.
This can’t be good for either film and is bound to get confusing. I hope the Weinsteins don’t just throw a shedload of money at advertising Nine and bury 9.
By the way, the 2005 short (called 9) that 9 is based on and got me all excited in the first place is on you tube and worth a look.
