Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh… POP!
ah good i see clintwood’s just arrived in tiome for the podcast from the future.
AAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh. *pop*
well nice having spoken with you clintwood! thats easily the best most insightful comments we’ve ever made on a film in a feedback comment. thanks!
Damn you!! I near had to take a hit from my inhaler for the oncoming asthma attack your cicada detour took. Many were the strange glances I was given while at work listening to this particular show, especially when you got to the bit about the “Cicada Singer”. Anyway, I saw this a while back, and felt about the same, though I thought it did incorporate the youthful exuberance as of a child with a new toy rather well. Tired scenery, there’s no argument there, but a touch of sci-fi amidst overwhelming domestic tranquility was kinda cool. Could have been done better, but not bad. Now I have to wonder if somebody could get AltaVista or Google to do their translation magic for the oft neglected tibicen pruinosa. Except by Japanese sound directors, that is :b
I know you guys gave this film a bad rating… but your review sounded interesting enough that I might actually go and see this anime…
Well thats perfect then, Madman who were nice enough to give us the film to review will be happy to hear that even when we’re pretty ambivalent on a film that folks still want to check it out! good stuff!
it’s not a bad film really i just didn’t really get into it. my girlfriend kinda did which was weird. worth a look for sure.
I like your reviews because they’re comprehensive (and it’s fun to listen to all the jokes)… even if you don’t like a film because of X, that same X might be something I’d be into… and you guys give me a lot of XXX
Well i’m not too sure how many XXXX’s or OOO’s you’ll be getting from us big boofy manly men. but hey if you like what we do thats all that matters to us!
niiiice.
