As a person who has played nearly all the resident evil games (I have only played about 30 minutes of Code Veronica) I am interested in seeing this movie…But looking at the screenshots and trailer it looks similar sort of graphics to Resident Evil 4. It is disappointing especially considering how far we long it has been since “Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within” It seems that this was just put together to make a quick buck from people waiting for Resident Evil 5.

If they made an anime movie like dead space did I don’t think I would be so critical of it, but since the graphics look stock standard it just screams out “been there, done that.”

I agree with you somewhat, Dirk — this is by no means on ANY level even NEAR a Boll movie. Still, I’d have loved for a good movie AND a good series.

Even if the film isn’t good, I am interested to see how the film looks. The Japanese seem to be interested in using game engine systems to create full films now, not just cut sense for games. Not sure if it works yet, but hey it is another way to tell a story cinematically.

I must admit (have done many times in the past) that I like the Resident Evil live action films, even when Dirk Flinthart is talking through them in the cinema with Dion

Awww, come on. Making a shitty movie out of an interesting game series is a nice change. Usually they take an interesting movie and make a completely shite game out of it. Going the other direction is generally only the province of Our Beloved Uwe… and I bet that no matter how shite this film may be, it’s a far cry from Herr Boll’s finer efforts!
