Dammit… lost my blow by blow account of my experience of this d/load…
In my hurry to win the Tripping the Rift comp, I lost it all….
Six of One played a version of Cat on Red Dwarf…
Best part of the sadly lost commentary….
Q: It is gay not to want fuck BC
June 13th, 2005 at 12:22 pm
Rattray, you weren’t researching WW, I was. I sent you the linkage cuz I knew you’d like to be able to tie up a woman and make her tell you the truth.
Not that I approve of that.
June 13th, 2005 at 12:37 pm
The last time I did that it nearly got us into a load of trouble. Thanks for the clarfication, I just couldn’t for the life of me remember what I was doing looking at WW info. It was so long ago and so many email linkages hence.
This one’s for all you poo-bandits who want a piece of BC.
I’ll stick with CB thanks.
But to satisfy my true love, I’ll finish up with DR.
June 13th, 2005 at 12:40 pm
Nice work — calling your listeners ‘childish’… it makes your implicit approval of Rattray’s dick and Denise jokes all the more sophisticated.
June 13th, 2005 at 3:01 pm
It occurs to me that I am far too critical of what goes on here, considering that I *am* in fact a fan…
I don’t come here every week, putting my job at risk just to hear how fucked up Rattray is… I already know.
You are all doing a great job!
June 13th, 2005 at 4:58 pm
Thats ok Xabian, Rattray keeps telling us you are an nazi when it comes to the media, being a writer and all… and hell, we do need that to make us move forward. We can only go to deeper and lower levels of content when our listeners give us feedback.
Glad you are liking the cast.
And yes this podcasting thing seems to bring the “best” out in Rattray.
June 14th, 2005 at 7:15 am
Just finished the latest show….thanks for the shout guys.
Quinny, you’ve probably already seen this since you’re big on Bruce, but wanted to mention it in case you hadn’t…..might be a good movie for a review some day.
Bubba Ho-Tep - Bruce plays an aged Elvis who turns up in a Texas rest home where everyone thinks he’s a little nutty. He teams up with Ossie Davis who plays a black JFK(he claims the FBI died his skin to get him out of the way), when a mummy starts sucking souls from the old folks arsholes in the old folks home.
Not as over the top as Army of Darkness, but still worth a watch.

Cheers

Bubba Ho-Tep is a great independent flick. We watched ages ago, and it does deserve a podcast review.
June 14th, 2005 at 8:23 am
fellas…. awesome show as always… and the fact that it had my girlfriends breathy voice on it made it all the better…
although I wish you hasn’t read out that email… ” my girlfriends an actress blah blah”… I sound like a right tit….
and also she sends out mad props to the fellow actors of the coolshite empire.. quinny…. and… um…chris(?) respect either way
June 14th, 2005 at 12:26 pm
I think we should probably have a disclaimer that all email sent to us may be used in a show unless specifically requested otherwise.
I’m impressed that you sound like a right tit, Tom. If you can ever sound like a left tit then we’ll get you in stereo tits!
Okay, that was lame. I’m ill, go away.
Bubba Ho-Tep rocked my cock.
June 14th, 2005 at 2:38 pm
bugger, just lost all my comments… i hate that…
yeah, tom, thanks heaps amtema dn to your lovely lady, thanks even more. i loved blade two and she was very cool in it. I am insanely jealous of her and also i am amazed that she even thinks of listening to such self effacing psuedo intellectual drivel as us… heh heh…
bubba ho tep sits on my shelf proudly and i look at it fondly occasionally. its a fun little flick. a bit odd in pacing, but fun nonetheless.
i’ve got a hepa of reviews to dump here soon, so that will be fun. but until then i’ll be happy talking back to all you guys.
and XABIAN!!!! MATE!!! well done you do win the trippin the rift comp. she was the cat in the first american pilot of red dwarf. glad they never made it mind you… its shit. i like this, its a fun game methinks i’ll think of fun new games like this whenever… and maybe even try to sort out a prize… hmm. maybe a CD with the red dwarf USA pilot on it for Xabian… will look into that.
now, its only a couple of days til batman begins here…. hmmm. i feel a geek train coming on…
thanks for listening guys. always a pleasure. and i’m amazed henrik, nothing from you this time? i was looking forward to your comments. i always do.
in fact one of the reviews i’m gonna post up soon i really want henriks feedback on… anyhoo.
Q dog goes woof!
oh yeah, and now i’m bald… mmmm sexy bald dog….

I’m off to the premier of Batman Begins tomorrow night! Promoters just sent me a free ticket for no apparent reason (my movie review journalism is on the backburner as a result of all my automation work).
While the the cool-shite community certainly has every right to swoon over Tom’s girlfriend, is it a stretch to believe that she actually listens?
I’m sure I could convince Ray (who you met at the uni pub, Q) to do an ident, but there’s no way on earth I could convince her to listen to an entire show — until you start EDITING.
Much as I love the cast, I know I would enjoy it more if it was TIGHTER.
June 14th, 2005 at 9:55 pm
All right, quick comments as I’m at work:
Hercules: sounds pretty wacky, I’m sure the audio clips didn’t do it justice because they were mostly grating. =) I liked about 30% of Kung Pow (and most of the same guy’s Thumb-parodies, check those out) but then that was kung-fu which I like, a greek mythology setting might be something else though.
Army of Darkness: if you haven’t seen it, WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?
Tripping The Rift: awesome, funny as hell!
Blade 2 - right along with 1 and 3: Coolness. Bring on Blade 4.
Batman Begins: hand over that ticket you fiend!
On subject of editing, I give you this bit of dialogue:
- I was staying with these mates, well, people I’d met in a squat, I didn’t meet them in a squat, I moved into a squat *with* them, which was fine… Are you interested? Anyway, there was this guy, and I didn’t really know, well… I suppose… no. Really what happened was… No, rather than confront, I thought…
- Skip to the end?
- So, I’m moving out.
- I see.
June 14th, 2005 at 11:02 pm
Yeah, see the editing thing just aint gonna happen because, well there was this guy, I think his name was Ralph, no.. Dave, but anyway - he was this plumber I think and so I said to Quinny, who loves the cock, that there’s no way in hell she’ll ever give YOU a blowjob and then he was like “Urgh” and I was like “Yer” and she was like “whatever” and I was like don’t pick your nose, but, you see, cos Tricia was down by the bike shed with Frank who had a big donger, but nah but yeah but nah, and I was all like “You two faced she-wolf!” and it wasn’t me though, it was R-Don.
It aint til we get paid in hookers and blow that the Shite gets the chop. For now the Shite is as it comes and that’s all there is to that. I dunno if I could stand listening to Bruce whinge about having to edit the content as well as the actual show. That would be unpossible!
June 14th, 2005 at 11:06 pm
My meaning was: cut down the ramling, skip to the end. =)
June 14th, 2005 at 11:22 pm
i agree that our latest batch have had a little too much off topic, especially this weeks.
I’m not sure about a model on how to edit the content. There are many factors in volved, not just including the lack of time. I have three other ego’s to satisfy and if I give them the chop… well I would hate to think what Chris would call me then.
I give my solemn promise to try keep the convo more movie talk directed.
June 14th, 2005 at 11:46 pm
I think there’s points where we could be tighter - like the intros and outros, but I’d be loathe to start restricting our conversation once we’re actually talking and in “the zone” so to speak. I like to think that every podcast is an adventure into the unknown… and Denise Richard’s bosoms.
I mean, if we focus solely on film in our discussion, how does that make us any different from all the other movie-focused (read: dry/dull) podcasts out there? But if we use what we’ve watched as a springboard for a conversation which has the potential to branch off from time to time then that’s pretty interesting. and natural.
I agree there’s got to be a balance but we never claimed to be authorities on all things film-related, we’re just four guys talking shit about shite.
June 15th, 2005 at 3:50 am
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again.
Keep it loose, it works for you.
Admittedly this weeks seemed to spend more time off toipic than on but so long as it’s entertaining then I couldn’t give two brass lambs tails in a shitty gnats chuff.
How many times did someone say ‘ Can we get back to Tripping the Rift?’
Henrik, props on the Spaced quote.
Army Of Darkness is cool though not my favourite of the series. It took a very different path to the others. Still fantastically entertaining stuff and quotabley fine.
Bubba Ho Tep was odd but fun. Bruce gave a great performance as The King. The pacing was a little off expecially the first half of the movie being to slow.
I saw the Tripping The Rift short and have seen the title floating about in different search results but never checked it out. I’ll do so soon.
The Hercules thing sounds very funny. I especially liked the clip of the woman crying right at the end of the cast. That had me laughing out loud in the office.
I also found Kung-Pow funny in places. Mostly those were places that didn’t include the Writer/Director/Producer/Star of the thing.
Mostly unrelated tangent. The BBC is currently showing Kath & Kim here. I quite like it and Naomi enjoys it. The references to Melbourne and other Aussie locations mean more to her than me.
My Aussie In-Laws-to-be have sent me a couple of Glen Robbins videos in the past of Russell Coights All Aussie Adventures which are pretty funny too. Also The House Of Bulger - though I suspect a better knowledge of the AFL would add something to that.
June 15th, 2005 at 11:19 am
Yeah, I’m with you Jaitu. “Ramblers, let’s get rambling…”
I’m still waiting for someone, anyone, to send me a suggestion for next show’s Neverending Story segment. Come on people! I was hoping this segment would spark another avenue of interaction for you all.
In case you might have missed it it’s at the 46:00 minute point in the cast. Listen again and send me your ideas to chris(at)coolshite.net (replace (at) with @).
Carrie Fisher salutes George Lucas…

Spoiler free review: Batman Begins… roxors!
Bruce, thought you might want to takie a look at this:

One day, the fact that a product does exactly what its makers claim it does will be the criteria for a ‘business plan’.
Thus spake Xabian, voice of the Zeitgeist and last of the eternal optimists.

LOOK! I made a spelling error/typo and used a l33t colloquialism!
June 16th, 2005 at 11:47 am
Furthermore, Bruce, have you considered a UBB format for Coolshite? Easier to navigate and come back to relevant threads, maybe? Delete this post.

Superman simply can’t be good… the character has no depth… DARK KNIGHT always kicks his Aryan ass!
Don’t fight me on this… you just don’t wanna go there.
