Kevin Spacey Hints At Upcoming Comics Project With Trigger Street And Devil’s Due
Kevin Spacey announced in 2008 that he and his Trigger Street Productions partner Dana Brunetti were going to start looking at comics. The company, which has helped bring films like “Fanboys” and next year’s Facebook-based “The Social Network” to life, opened up a section of TriggerStreet.com to aspiring comics creators looking for feedback—but hasn’t yet announced plans to produce anything of their own.

Julian McMahon sees ‘Red’
Julian McMahon, Ernest Borgnine, Richard Dreyfuss and Brian Cox are in negotiations to join the all-star cast of “Red,” Summit’s adaptation of the Wildstorm/DC Comics miniseries being directed by Robert Schwentke. “Red” tells the tale of a former black ops agent (Bruce Willis), now in retirement, who has to contend with younger, more high-tech assassins who show up to kill him.

What Can Zatanna’s ‘Smallville’ Episode Teach Us About ‘Justice League’ & ‘The Avengers’ Movie Team-Ups?
“Magic is always hard on our show,” writer Bryan Q. Miller said. “On the page, not just from a budget standpoint like on TV, you can do anything with magic. When you have real people walking around on TV—fictional characters—you have to somehow ground what’s happening. Magic can just be limitless, and if it’s limitless, where does the conflict come from? How do you stop Zatanna when something goes wrong?”

We’ve got the scoop on a new Buffy series!
No, not the proposed Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie that wouldn’t involve creator Joss Whedon or anyone from the beloved TV show, which all serious Bronzers consider an abomination against nature. Rather, a series of motion-comic webisodes based on Whedon’s highly successful series of “Season Eight” comics. Based on the breakdown, the series will be based on the comics and feature the characters Twilight, the Big Bad of Season Eight, and evil British socialite Slayer Lady Genevieve Savidge, who plots to usurp Buffy’s place in the Slayer hierarchy.

Stephen Susco Penning ‘Hack/Slash’ Adaptation!
With Fredrik Bond attached to direct, Relativity has tapped Stephen Susco to pen the latest draft of the live-action adaptation of Hack/Slash, a film that should kick off a brand new franchise. The comic centers on Cassie Hack, a woman who symbolizes the lone girl who survives at the end of every horror movie. Hack not only survived, she has become a killer of killers and travels to small towns across the country hunting slashers in the vein of Halloween’s Michael Myers, Friday the 13th’s Jason Voorhees and A Nightmare on Elm Street’s Freddy Krueger.

‘Alien Legion’ prepares for blast-off
Alien Legion will soon find its way to the big screen, as well. “Alien Legion has been optioned for some time,” series creator Carl Potts confirms. “The script is currently in its third rewrite.” In a recent interview with film fan-site Heyuguys.co.uk, Derek Haas revealed that he and writing partner Michael Brandt (Wanted, 3:10 to Yuma) are reworking the Alien Legion script for Jerry Bruckheimer and Disney. “Bruckheimer’s never done a science-fiction before, so that challenge, I think, is something that would hold his interest. The success they’ve had with blending CGI and live-action characters in The Pirates of the Caribbean series could translate easily to an Alien Legion film.”

James McTeigue Says ‘Superman’ Movie Is In ‘A Weird Place’
“It’s in a weird place at the moment,” he told MTV News. “They’re trying to work out what they’re doing. Warner Brothers is trying to figure out their next move on it. There’s some things you can do with the ‘Superman’ franchise, there’s other things you can’t do. So it hasn’t gone anywhere.”

Hawkman Swoops Into Smallville!
Here it is! A sneak peek at Michael Shanks in the Hawkman costume he dons for Smallville’s highly anticipated two-hour movie event. Featuring the Justice Society, the special airs February 5, and the second hour is directed by Tom Welling.

Wes Anderson Reveals Possible ‘Fantastic Mr. Fox’ Spin-Off Comic Book
“I had an idea for this costume for this character and it included him wearing this cape. He’s trying to somehow be heroic, to insist that he’s a hero. Then I wanted to give him something to read — what’s he reading? With a movie like this, you can’t just find a book, you’ve got to make it because it’s going to be [tiny]. So usually we would take time and say, ‘What can we think of to go here?’ There’s a lot of opportunity to invent something. And we said, ‘Let’s say that’s where he got the cape.’ ”

Hollywood Spider-Man impersonator caught in legal web
A Spider-Man impersonator was arrested on outstanding criminal warrants today after an incident in which he allegedly slugged a man near the Hollywood and Highland complex, Los Angeles police said. The incident unfolded when LAPD patrol officers received a radio call reporting a battery by a man in a Spider-Man costume. When they arrived, they encountered four different people dressed as the web-slinging crusader. “They stopped one, it wasn’t him,” LAPD Lt. Beverly Lewis said. “They stopped the second, and it was the suspect.”

‘X2′ Screenwriter Describes The ‘X-Men 3′ He And Bryan Singer Would Have Made
“You found out was that Phoenix was going round the world taking things into her own hands and that she had basically returned as a god,” described the writer/director Mike Dougherty. “She had viewed herself as above the conflict, that she was here to end things on her terms, she was sick of the fighting and she was going to take things into her own hands and she did not give a sh– what the X-Men or the Brotherhood had to say about it.”

David Goyer Says ‘X-Men Origins: Magneto’ Might Not Happen Anytime Soon
“[Fox is] still trying to figure out what they want to do, whether or not they’ll do a different ‘X-Men’ movie next or another ‘Wolverine’ movie next. If they want to make ‘Magneto,’ that’s awesome. In the meantime, I’m just going to move on with my other projects.”

‘Spider-Man 4′: Rachel McAdams shoots down casting rumor
“I was hanging out in Toronto the other day and someone came up to me and said, ‘I just heard you’re doing Spider-Man 4.‘ And I said, ‘Really? No one told me!’ It’s not true.” A rep for Sony Pictures concurs: “It’s an Internet rumor, as so many things are these days.”

‘Smallville’ lands Pam Grier!
Blaxploitation icon-turned-L-Word staple Pam Grier is joining the cast for multiple episodes. Grier has been booked to play DC Comics villainess Agent Amanda Waller. She will make her debut in the second hour of the upcoming Justice Society-centric two-parter, “Legends,” scheduled to air in late January.

Meanwhile, Back at The Hall of Justice…
