Wreck it Ralph – Movie Trailer
What if Donkey Kong got sick of being the bad guy? There’s your premise for the story of Wreck it Ralph. And of course I mean Donkey Kong from the old original games, not the new shiny Donkey Kong who loves everyone and hunts floating bananas. I mean old grumpy barrel throwing Donkey Kong… This film Stars John C. Reilly as Ralph, a video game bad guy who gets sick of being hated and decides to explore what his options are. He does so by hopping from game to game and it looks really cool! Featuring instantly recognizable characters from Streetfighter 2, Q-Bert, Mario, Sonic and many others, this looks like a heap of fun!
Synopsis:
The story follows an old school arcade style bad guy named Ralph, who is a 9 feet tall, 640 pound character that lives in a pile of garbage. His job in the video game is to destroy cities that will only to be built back up again by the good guy with a magic hammer named Felix. Ralph is jealous of all the attention that Felix gets because he is the hero. Ralph goes on an adventure around the arcade he lives in, jumping from game to game looking for a way to prove that he can be a good guy and a hero. Of course, he just doesn’t fit in with any of the games. Ralph isn’t content with his fate of being a villain. Some of the games he jumps in on are a Halo type video game and a game called Sugar Rush, which poses a threat to the arcade in which Ralph resides.
It’s directed by Rich Moore (The Simpsons) and also features the voices of Sarah Silverman, Jack McBrayer, and Jane Lynch. The movie is in theaters in 3D on November 2nd (US date).

Okay, the appearance of Q-bert won me over. The premise, though, isn’t exactly new. Reboot was kind of like this, but mostly from the good guy’s perspective. But with Silverman and Reilly, it ought to be worth looking into.
