Seeking a Friend for the End of the World – Move Trailer
Last year, Lars Von Trier made a film about the end of life on earth called “Melancholia”. In typical Lars fashion it was depressing and existentially angst-ridden. Now we’re treated to the American perky upbeat quirky comedy version of the same concept. The world is about to end thanks to a giant meteorite and we all have a couple of weeks left to get our shit in order. You know what i wouldn’t do? Try to fuck Steve Carrell. But then again. i’m not Keira Knightly… It also reminds me of the play “Rio Saki and other falling debris” which is well worth a look. Watch the trailer… see what you think.
Synopsis: Set in a too-near future, Seeking a Friend for the End of the World explores what people will do when humanity’s last days are at hand. Can one man find his greatest love at the worst possible time? As the respective journeys of Dodge (Steve Carell) and Penny (Keira Knightley) converge, the two spark to each other and their outlooks—if not the world’s—brighten.
