Afterschool – Movie Trailer
Today we’ll be talking about a film called Afterschool, from director Antonio Campos. It is a story set on the campus of an upscale prep-school that has seen the deaths of two students due to drug overdose captured on film. The clip makes the typical rounds and after being seen by numerous students and faculty, the mood of the campus appears to change under the stress of the events, including Robert (Ezra Miller), the boy who isn’t quite fitting in, and who first happened upon the scene. While looking for the clip to include in this blurb I noticed the typically jaded snarky interweb types saying how the film (largely unseen as of yet from what I understand, it appears to be making the festival rounds for the past few months) is ‘amazingly overrated’, but the trailer is intriguing enough to catch my eye, so I’m passing it along to you. I tend to take general internet criticism with a grain of salt anyway, particularly the comment section of YouTube and the IMBD message boards, where intelligence and good taste come to die a lingering death.
