I just realized the one trailer missing from the superbowl was a new trailer or simply a reshowing of a trailer for the new Terminator Salvation film. I figured they would have one. I guess maybe not considering that Terminator Sarah Connor Chronicles is on FOX, but still that movie is supposed to be huge. Odd…

Wow. If you’d told me that I was going to be interested in a G.I. Joe film, I would have said you were cracked. Of course, if you’d said Christopher Eccleston and Dennis Quaid were going to be in it, I wouldn’t have believed that either.

I feel like I’m really cranky and judgmental tonight, but aside from G.I. Joe the rest of the trailers seemed (to me) a big, steaming pile of meh. The Star Trek film had a few visual echoes of the past ones, but it hasn’t interested me yet. More Transformers? Pretty, but not a big fan. Up looks like standard kid-fare…I have yet to see the hook. Fast & Furious — cars go boom. Probably brainless action film. Year One — um, no. And Land of the Lost could have been fun if they’d done it straight. And maybe all the schtick is in the trailer…but I will definitely wait for the reviews on that one.

From fave to least interested, they’d go thus:

Transformers 2
GI Joe
Fast and Furious
Star Trek
Year One
Up
Land of the Lost

In truth, GI Joe kind of started off with an ominous whiff of Tomb Raider, boobies being at the forefront(not bad, per se, but a concern with it being the main selling point). However, the effects and action redeemed it, imho. And while I’m all for mocking the fundies, Jack Black alone won’t carry it, imho. And Up? Oh my, what a ground breaking concept, delving into the difficulties of a generation gap while being put into stressful situations. How original. i.e. bleah. In all honesty, there’s only two films this year I’ll likely take the trouble to hit the theaters for, Watchmen and Angels & Demons.

I notice you guys are missing the Monsters vs. Aliens trailer and the Angels and Demons trailer, by the way do you guys know how they are going to work the story for the movie, as it is technically a prequel, but it seems like they are making it look more like a sequel to the first movie instead of a prequel. Great coverage of trailers otherwise.
